Our client is a large, global education body who offer a wide variety of programmes and qualifications across a diverse range of subject disciplines. Their core values are centred on providing world-class teaching opportunities for students from all backgrounds, and in facilitating brilliant research to fuel better societal outcomes for all. The organisation is currently undergoing a Learning Management System transition to Canvas, and are now looking for further support within the team facilitating this change.

The successful post holder will be responsible for supporting the Canvas Learning Technologies Team with the administration of the platform, as well as providing key insights from their prior usage of the platform. Part of the roles requirements will be to test the Canvas LMS, update the platform and support several IT functions within Canvas. It is essential to have a recent and long experience with Canvas to be able to hit the ground running. The ideal candidate would have experience with the following:

  • Recent experience as a Canvas Systems Administrator, managing account settings, role permissions and data structures
  • Experience with several Canvas-specific integrations including Canvas Commons, Studio, Catalog, Impact tools and LTI tool integrations
  • Working with Canvas APIs either with a programming language or a client tool such as Postman
  • Taking account of new information or changed circumstances and modifying understanding of a problem or situation accordingly

Additional ‘nice-to-have’ experience would include:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to describe Canvas behaviour to stakeholder groups
  • Python programming language
  • Previous experience working in a Higher Education institution
  • Previous experience with a large-scale VLE implementation project

This contract is a brilliant opportunity for a Canvas professional to work alongside an experienced and hard-working Learning Technologies team, and will be paid on a competitive daily rate.
