Competitive Day Rate / 2-3 Days per week until August Remote Based Working, with onsite requirements Contract

Instinct is working with a long-standing client in the higher education space, a prestigious body which regularly places at the top of league tables. They are looking to modernise a number of their departments with automation tools to improve efficiency of processes, and as such need an experienced Microsoft Trainer/Instructional Designer to support staff with the knowledge and best practice of these tools.

The successful post holder will work cross-departmentally through collaboration, sharing best practices and case studies. The focus will be to curate existing Microsoft resources, create some institution-specific learning resources, and develop sessions to promote awareness of key tools like Power Automate, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Power BI, and Copilot. The overall goal will be to boost awareness of available technology – particularly among administrative staff – by inspiring enthusiasm for these tools and instruction on best practice.

The ideal candidate will need to have experience with the following:
  • Confident Public Speaker – Able to stand in front of a crowd and deliver engaging demos/sessions.
  • Adaptability – Must be flexible as processes and topics evolve.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Experience working with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to extract key information and translate it into structured sessions.
  • Content Curation / Creation – Ability to curate MS resources and organise LSE-specific processes (e.g., requesting SharePoint sites) into digestible training/demo formats.
  • Demo Delivery – Run interactive sessions (e.g., “This is what you can do with Power BI”) and showcase real-use cases from other champions / departments within the institution
  • Collaboration with IT/Tech Teams – Work alongside IT/DTS teams and pilot departments to ensure smooth support and execution.
  • Proactive Engagement – Some departments will be more advanced; must tailor content from foundational to high-level based on audience needs.
  • Understanding of Instructional Design Principles
